Non-caustic products
No eye-watering fumes, no harsh smell left in the kitchen, and safe to have in a home with children, pets or anyone with asthma.
Baked-on carbon does not come off with spray and a cloth. We strip the oven down, clean the parts in a heated dip tank off site, and hand it back looking close to new, ready to use within the hour.
The brown glaze on the inside of an oven is carbonised fat, and it is chemically nothing like ordinary kitchen grease. No amount of scrubbing with a supermarket spray shifts it, because the product cannot stay wet on a vertical surface long enough to work. That is the whole reason a professional service exists.
Our method is straightforward. We dismantle what comes out (racks, shelves, runners, trays, extractor filters, hob supports) and clean those in a heated dip tank in the van, where they can soak in a non-caustic solution. Meanwhile the oven cavity, fan, element and roof are treated by hand, the door is split so the inside of the double glazing can be cleaned, and everything is rinsed, dried, reassembled and tested.
The products we use are non-caustic and fume-free, which means no acrid smell in the kitchen, no fumes around children or pets, and the oven can be used within an hour. Caustic cleaning works, but it stinks, it damages some finishes, and we do not think it belongs in an occupied home.
A single oven is typically an hour and a half to two hours on site. A double oven is two to three hours because it is effectively two cavities, two doors and twice the racks. Range cookers of 90cm and above take longer again, and the big five and seven-burner models are usually a half-day job.
Agas and other heat-storage cookers are a specific skill and have to be approached differently. Enamel and cast iron need careful handling, and the cooker's temperature state matters. Tell us the make and model when you book so we allocate the right time and the right cleaner rather than turning up under-equipped.
Extractor filters are the most neglected item in most kitchens, and the consequence is not just grease. A saturated metal filter stops drawing properly, which pushes cooking moisture and smells into the room instead of out of it. Mesh and baffle filters can be dip-tank cleaned and come back clean. Paper and carbon filters cannot be cleaned at all and need replacing; we will tell you which type you have.
If your extractor recirculates instead of venting outside, very common in flats around the city centre and in newer apartments, the carbon filter is doing all the odour work and needs changing roughly every six to twelve months. Nobody ever does it, and it is why some kitchens never quite stop smelling of last night's dinner.
The oven is the number one cleaning item on UK check-out reports, full stop. If you are moving out of a rented property in Plymouth, the oven is the thing most likely to cost you part of your deposit, and it is also the hardest item to do yourself to inspection standard.
We clean a lot of ovens as part of a full end of tenancy clean, which is usually the better value route if the whole property needs doing. If the rest of the house is fine and the oven is the only problem, book the oven on its own. It is a fixed price and takes a couple of hours.
For a household that cooks most days, once a year is about right, with roasting trays and the grill pan done more often. Households that roast meat weekly, or anyone who regularly cooks at high temperatures, benefit from every six to nine months because carbon builds faster than people expect.
One practical note on self-cleaning functions: pyrolytic cycles burn residue to ash at very high temperature and do a reasonable job on the cavity, but they do nothing for the door glass, the racks (which usually must be removed first), the runners or the hob. They also put the oven's seals and electronics through a lot of heat. Use it if you have it, but it is not a substitute for a proper clean.
Fixed price per appliance, agreed when you book. No add-ons discovered on the day.

No eye-watering fumes, no harsh smell left in the kitchen, and safe to have in a home with children, pets or anyone with asthma.
We rinse, dry and reassemble before we leave, and test the oven works. You can cook the same evening.
The door is split so the inside of the glass is cleaned, and every removable part goes in the dip tank. That is the difference you actually see.
Tell us whether it is a single, double or range, and if you would like the hob and extractor doing at the same time. Fixed price, confirmed when you book.
Many customers combine two or three services into a single visit: just mention it when you ask for your quote.
Covering the whole of Plymouth plus the surrounding towns and villages.
It is a fixed price per appliance, agreed when you book. A single oven is a one and a half to two hour job, a double oven two to three hours, and a large range cooker three hours or more. Hobs, extractor filters and microwaves are cheaper when added to an oven clean than booked on their own.
Yes: within about an hour. We use non-caustic, fume-free products, and we rinse, dry, reassemble and test the oven before leaving. There is no lingering chemical smell and nothing to burn off.
Yes, where the door design allows it to be split safely. That is one of the clearest differences between a professional clean and a DIY one. The brown haze between the panes is what makes an oven look dirty even after the cavity has been scrubbed.
Everything removable goes into a heated dip tank in the van, which is the only way to get baked-on carbon off racks, runners, grill pans and trays properly. They come back and are refitted before we leave.
Yes, but tell us the make and model when you book. Heat-storage cookers and large ranges need more time, different handling for enamel and cast iron, and a cleaner briefed for them. A 90cm range is usually three hours or more.
Once a year suits most households that cook regularly. If you roast weekly or cook at high temperatures a lot, every six to nine months keeps it on top of the carbon. Self-cleaning pyrolytic cycles help with the cavity but do nothing for the door glass, racks, runners or hob.
